Kyle Humphreys passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at the age of 36 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Bea Zursen; daughter Hazel; parents Ken & Carla Humphreys; grandmother Eva Mae Humphreys; brother Colin Humphreys; and many more family and friends.
Kyle Humphreys was a bright and happy child whose laughter came easily and left a lasting impression on those around him. He carried a natural warmth that made him deeply connected to his family, whom he loved with sincerity and devotion.
He grew up in Calgary, where he attended school and discovered a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. Scouting, camping, and hiking were among his favourite activities, giving him a sense of freedom, friendship, and adventure. He especially cherished the simple comfort of gathering around a campfire, sharing stories and companionship.
An accident in 2016 changed the course of Kyle’s adult life and limited many of the activities he once enjoyed. Even so, he continued to find peace in nature and valued the moments he could spend outside.
Kyle had a genuine love for animals, and his dog Otis held a particularly special place in his life. He cared deeply for his friends and loved with a sincerity that made people feel seen and valued. Above all, Kyle’s greatest joy was becoming a father to Hazel. It was his lifelong goal, and he succeeded in it with all the love of a tender parent. She meant everything to Kyle and was the source of joy and delight in his life.
A Funeral Service will be held for Kyle at Pierson's Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 2:00 pm.
