Kirk Regan passed away appropriately on Earth Day, Monday, April 22, 2024 surrounded by family at the age of 66 years. He will be dearly missed by his daughter Danielle Regan (Spencer Hartos) and their two children Riley & Tillie Hartos all in Calgary; Son Jaime Regan (Olivia) and their two children Evie & Ellis all of Calgary; and daughter Quinn Gariepy-Regan also of Calgary. Kirk is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Garth Regan (Anne), Stuart Regan, William Regan (Sue, deceased), Michael Regan (Marlo), Gail Carson (Roland, deceased), Donna Burleigh (Bill) and Deborah Regan (Fred); Life long friends Jon & Janica, and Eugene & Connie; and a very large extended family and many friends.
Kirk was predeceased by his parents Lawrence & Doris Regan; and brother Larry Regan.
Born and raised in Wolfville, NS, Kirk was the second last of nine children born to Lawrence & Doris Regan, in a small home with no shortage of love. Those young years were filled with family excitement, school, hockey and anything that included the outdoors. After high school he made his way out west to Calgary a place that he loved and eventually called home. He met and married Jean and together they moved to Toronto for a period of time. They returned to Calgary where they settled and Danielle and Jaime were born. As a true lifelong entrepreneur, he began Big Sky Wireless, a business he loved. As circumstances unfolded and time moved on, he married Kimberly and Quinn joined the family. Kirk loved his family and did everything he could to be part of their lives. In recent years, he loved his new role as a grandfather. Hiking and daily walks were important, but so were many other athletic endeavors. Kirk loved everyone and made friends everywhere he went. He also had a passion for animals and loved his dogs. He would tell anyone he had 3 blessings in his life: His work, his children and AA. Kirk was forever positive and remained so right to the end.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
The family is planning a celebration of Kirk's life to be held a little later this spring. Once details have been determined, notifications will be posted.
The immediate family has gathered for a private cremation.
