Kim (Ken) Kinswater

May 6, 1959 — October 26, 2015

Kim (Ken) Kinswater passed away suddenly on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the age of 56 years. He was a jack of all trades: Entrepreneur, Journeyman Electrician, Funeral Director, accomplished Registered Massage Therapist and co-founder of The Stress Relief Centre in Calgary, the first Stress Centre in Canada. Kim loved to read and was a lifelong learner; his thirst for knowledge was insatiable. Kim spent many hours working and playing with his horses and was affectionately known as “The Horse Whisperer”. He found peace and solitude in the company of his horses. Kim was a gifted photographer and his passion shone through in the many weddings, family gatherings and every day occasions that he photographed. Family was at the very heart of his existence. He was a devoted husband to Joey (28 years), father, step-father to Erin (Jacob) Houghton and grandfather. Granddaughter Malia was the absolute light of his life. He was a kid magnet. In his own humility, he had no idea the people that he impacted through his gentle spirit, sense of humour and kind and loving nature. He was thought of by many as “The Gentle Giant” and was a gentleman in the true sense of the word. He was always there to lend a helping hand, no matter the task. He touched many lives without realizing it and has left a void with all who knew and loved him. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 1:00pm at Knox Presbyterian Church, 4718 Ross St, Red Deer, AB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to any Animal Rescue Organization.
