Kilby, Brian “Boss” James

Boss Kilby passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the age of 67 years. He will be dearly missed by his love and partner of 30 years Donna Meszaros; four children Christy Rutherford of Calgary, Tash Ranger of Ontario, Jessica Whamond (Dana) of Edmonton and Jay Meszaros (Brittney) of Didsbury; and daughters-in-law Nikki Contenti and Nicole Sheppard. The Boss is also survived by many grandchildren: Christy’s children Desmond, Lauren, Haylee (Dan), Sash (Mika) and Alia; Tasha’s children Dante and Shalaina; Jessica’s children Rylie & Drake; Carl’s children Kaymin & Kalmin; and Jay’s children Jay Jr., Landin, Lilly, Skyla and Lenoxx; and great-grandchildren Haylee’s children Alexia and Ava, and Sasha’s children Naomi, Zuri & Kione. He also leaves his brothers and sisters Carol Ann, Pat, Marilyn, Janice, Barb, Wayne and Larry; and a large extended family as well as many friends.

Brian was predeceased by a son Carl Ranger and a sister Diane.

Brian was born and raised in Ontario. After High School, he joined the PPCLI (Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry) where he proudly served our great country. After his service in the Army, Boss used his skills of being able to repair almost anything and became a handy man. He also became a truck driver, which suited him well. When Boss wasn’t working, he could be found playing Risk with his buddies (especially on Friday nights), playing Hot Shotz Golf, gardening or spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband and partner and was always generous and kind. He had a positive impact on everyone he know and was a great role model. Boss could find the positive in anything and inspired people to be better.
