Kevin Curtis Yaholnitsky

March 5, 1962 — April 22, 2023

On Saturday, April 22, 2023, Kevin Curtis Yaholnitsky passed away at the age of 61.

Kevin was born on March 5, 1962 in Edmonton, Alberta. Dad was in the Canadian Armed Forced and was transferred from Edmonton to Calgary, and that is where Kevin has resided ever since. Kevin has seven siblings, and was the youngest son. Kevin is survived by his mother, Florence (Large) Yaholnitsky; siblings, Virginia (Gord) Hager, Orest Yaholnitsky, Mavis (Robert) Da Silva, Sonia (Larry) Dodd, Brian Large, Cameron (Cynthia) Mason and Charlene (Jerry) Large.

Kevin leaves to mourn his best friend, Ron Rubi; a son, Troy Curtis Edmunds; grandson, Aiden Cael Marsman; a daughter, Miranda Jane Cavers; granddaughter, Aurora May Gienow and grandson, Paxton Lucas Gienow; and daughter, Ashley Wagner.

Kevin is predeceased by his father, Ozor Ernest (Ernie) Yaholnitsky; and his girlfriend, Priscilla Stoffels-Lemke.

After dad’s passing in 2017, Kevin moved in with mom so she could remain at home He took over caring for the yard and tending to the garden. Kevin cared a lot about people; not only family, but those that he met. He was very meticulous in keeping the house in order and very clean. When Cynthia and I came down to visit from Saddle Lake, Kevin always made us feel welcomed and he always made sure that we ate and we had a cup of tea. Recently, he spoke about his experience after dad passed away. He said he went to sit on the steps and was looking at the apple tree and it seemed to him that the apple tree was glowing. Kevin had said that it was a sign from dad to let him know that he was there.

Kevin, may you now find comfort and rest in peace.

O Lord God, though I walk now through the valley of the shadow of death, help me to fear no evil. Make me to feel that I am not alone for Thou art with me. Forgive me, I humbly pray, for all the evil which has been in my life, and receive my ransomed soul into Thy holy keeping. Lord Jesus, receive my Spirit. Amen.

Principal H. A. Kent
