Kenneth Hartley Walker

Ken Hartley Walker, born on July 1, 1940, in Wilkie, Saskatchewan, passed away on February 23, 2026, at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta. He enriched the lives of many during his commendable career, dedicating almost 50 years to the insurance business. Ken was known for his inquisitive nature; he loved to learn and research various topics, making him a well-rounded and knowledgeable individual. His helpful spirit shone through as he used his skills and education to assist others with their financial and tax-related matters, demonstrating a genuine concern for those around him.

Ken had a variety of hobbies, notably flying planes and racing cars during his younger years. His business led him to his engagement with politics, into which he poured his time and effort, particularly in working with several area Members of Parliament election campaigns. But above all else Ken enjoyed being with his grandchildren and attending their events and family visits.

Ken is survived by his children: Scott (Megan) from Cochrane and Trevor of Calgary; five grandchildren, Samuel, Teddy, Ella, Lily, and Presley; and his brother, Ross (Claudia). He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Viola.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 14, 2026, at Pierson's Funeral Services (4121 - 17 Ave SE, Calgary) beginning at 2:00PM. Kenneth Hartley Walker leaves behind a legacy of knowledge and kindness, remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
