Calgary, Alberta

On Monday, November 2, 2026, Mrs. Karen Marie Baardseth, beloved wife of Allan Baardseth of Calgary, Alberta passed away at home at the age of 76 years.

Karen was born in Hanna, Alberta, on Friday, January 20, 1950, to Ethel and Vince Bourbonnie. Karen met and married Allan Baardseth, and together they raised their family in Calgary. Most of her life, Karen concentrated on raising her three boys, Barry, Shane, and Dean, and many others. She always opened her home and heart to all through the many years. Whether it was a delicious meal, a beer, a listening ear, or a warm place to stay, Karen never turned anyone away. Her biggest passion was her family whom she loved fiercely! So many family friends were considered close family as they were blessed to be part of the Baardseth family. Allan and Karen welcomed all with open arms, a warm heart and love. Karen loved her good old country music with such artists as Elvis and Johnny Cash. Karen also loved playing crib and different card games like "Stop The Bus". Karen will be lovingly remembered by many.

Besides her loving husband Allan of 54 years, Karen is survived by her children, Shane (Niki) of Regina, Saskatchewan, Dean (Leanne) of Calgary, Tonk (Crystal) of Calgary; grandchildren, Teolynn (Spencer) Howe of Calgary, Alberta, Torry (Janai) Baardseth of Calgary, Tyler (Natalie) Baardseth of Regina, Jaiden (Isaac) Baardseth of Regina, Kamryn (Kane) Baardseth of Calgary, Amanda Baardseth of Edmonton, Alberta, Bo Baardseth of Calgary, Emma Beck of New Brunswick, Myla McDonough of Calgary, Capri McDonough of Calgary, Brett Teindl of Calgary, Brooke (Devon) Dreidger of Calgary ; six great-grandchildren; siblings Joan (Delmar) Machum of Lethbridge, Alberta, Joyce (Wayne) Becker of Calgary, Lyn Paulhus of Chestermere, Alberta, Terry Bourbonnie of Calgary; and many more relatives and friends, too many special people to mention. If you knew Karen, you were special to her and her to you. "To know her was to love her."

Karen was predeceased by her eldest son Barry, parents Ethel and Vince Bourbonnie, and brother-in-laws Mark Paulus, Rick Baardseth, Michael Baardseth.
