Juliana “Julie” Elizabeth Frieburg

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother Julie Frieburg on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the age of 74 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Tracey Versteege of Brandon, MB and Tera-Leigh (Joe) Delorme of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Kaven, Mija, Jayden, Dakota and Alexis; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Annie & Nick Wasylenko and siblings Janet, Mike, Olga, Evelyn, Steve, Lavern, Annette, Zenova, and Marvin.

Julie was born in Thomas Lake, MB and raised in Sandy Lake, MB. She was hip and classy and up to date with the styles, a month never passed where she didn’t have a hair and nail appointment booked. Her appearance and staying youthful was very important to mom. She loved shopping for deals, thrifting, cooking and baking, mom had her way with plants, she could make any plant blossom. Mom also loved animals, especially Tracey’s fur babies, Major, Izzy, Cassie, Harley and Zoey. Her spirit is everywhere, she collected angels, believed in the afterlife and was extremely religious. Our mother made friends everywhere she went, even the squirrels are going to miss mother as she made friends with them. Our mother truly loved life in all its forms and thrived on making life bright.

All Mom wanted was to be a mom, and she became a mom to Tracey and Tera. But she was a mom to not only her daughters but to everyone who knew her. She also loved being a grandma and was always happy spending time with her grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held for Julie at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 6:00 pm. Viewing will start at 5:00 pm.
