Judith Hansen

July 2, 1940 — June 3, 2015

Judith Hansen, beloved wife of Donald S. Hansen, passed away peacefully in her Calgary home, surrounded by her husband and children. She will be dearly missed by Don, her husband of 54 years, and her five children and their families: Janice (Jeff) Champion, Karen (Steve) Meyer, Dave (Lanna) Hansen, Kristine (Kent) Stringham, and Steve (Chelsey) Hansen, as well as 23 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Grace Lundrigan. She now joins her sweet oldest sister, Diane Leavitt (Bryce Leavitt) who predeceased her by only six days. Her surviving siblings are Bob (Virginia) Lundrigan, Susan (Brent) Sugden, and Sally (Don) Rae. Judy was born and raised in Cardston, Alberta and met her husband Don while attending the University of Alberta. She obtained her Education degree and began teaching in the Calgary Public School Division. Her full-time attention soon became focused on the nurturing and raising of her children. She felt motherhood was her most noble and cherished endeavor. Family relationships were the hallmark of her life. She was a woman of faith who was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her devotion to the Saviour was exemplified by her service to others. She was grateful to have had the opportunity to serve in the Cardston and Calgary temples with her husband Don, and loved those with whom she served. We all shall be lonelier now without her, but should remember that she is enjoying a glorious reunion. A Funeral Service will be held for Judy at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Parkland Stake Center (14540 Parkland Blvd. SE , Calgary) on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Okotoks Cemetery.
