Joseph Yves Jean-Denis de-Léséleuc

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph "John" Yves Jean-Denis de-Léséleuc, a truly one-of-a-kind man whose kindness, generosity, and love for others left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

John had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. He also cherished time spent playing cards with family and friends. Above all, he treasured gathering around the table with those he loved, sharing a good mean, stories, and laughter. These simple moments brought him great happiness and created many cherished memories for those who knew him.

In 1980, while living in Calgary, John met the love of his life, Christine. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter and family. Their years together were a testament to enduring love and commitment. John was a man with a heart twice the size of him. He would gladly give the shirt off his back to help someone in need, never expecting anything in return. A devoted sports fan, John could always be found cheering on the Calgary Flames and the Calgary Stampeders. Win or lose, his loyalty never wavered. Above all else, John cherished his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and the love he had for them was beyond words. He took immense pride in watching them grow and treasured every moment spent with them. His love, guidance, and gentle presence will remain with them always.

Along with his wife of 46 years, Christine, John will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Daniel, Johnny (Leanne), Christopher (Melissa) and adopted daughter Aiysha (Ian); 5 grandchildren, Mercedes, Lily, Carter, Shane, Cassandra; siblings, Michel (Leona) de-Léséleuc of Montreal, Quebec, Marcel (Christine) de-Léséleuc of Nova Scotia, Claudette Mongrain of Merritt, British Columbia; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Yvonne de-Léséleuc; sister, Helen Simard; brother, Andre de-Léséleuc.

John leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and countless cherished memories. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rest peacefully, John. You were truly one-of-a-kind, and you will never be forgotten.
