He was predeceased by his parents Irene and John Nightingale.

John was born and raised in Montreal, QC. After serving 2 years in the Navy, he moved to Alberta where he met and married the love of his life, Teresa Wright. He was a true jack of all trades who excelled in every role he undertook. For sixteen years, John worked at Heritage Park. He also served as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant with the Catholic School Board. His patience and compassion created a nurturing environment where students thrived. John's commitment to his work and the well-being of every child he encountered made him an invaluable asset to the educational community.

John will always be remembered for his exceptional sense of humor. He had a knack for bringing joy to any situation with his quick wit and lighthearted personality. His infectious laughter filled the room and lifted the spirits of everyone fortunate enough to know him. John also had a deep passion for the outdoors and was an avid supporter of the Montreal Canadiens. Whether camping under the starry sky or cheering on his beloved hockey team with friends and family, these activities brought him immense happiness throughout his life.

One of John's proudest accomplishments was his dedication as a scout leader for thirty remarkable years. Through this role, he shaped the lives of countless young individuals guiding them towards becoming responsible and compassionate adults.
