John Holm Kristensen

John Holm Kristensen passed away peacefully at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary on January 13, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on February 18, 1945, in Durup, Denmark, John lived a life marked by enterprise, connection, and warmth.

John's career in the upholstery and furniture business showcased his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to craftsmanship. Known for his engaging personality, John derived joy from social interactions, often gathering with friends at his favorite hangout, the Olive Grove, and spending time at the Danish Canadian Club.

Outside of work, John had a passion for travel, frequently visiting Mexico several times a year.

John is survived by his daughter, Candy Steinke; and his cherished grandchildren, Dagan, Kaila, and Tianna. He is also mourned by his sister, Lis Nielsen. John was predeceased by his parents, Magnus and Kristina, as well as six of his siblings.

His legacy of kindness, hard work, and dedication to family will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
