With great sadness we announce the passing of John Adam Wingert on Sunday, July 2, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 86.
John was born on September 4, 1936 in Markinch, Saskatchewan and lived in Calgary.
He enjoyed going to active programs and bingo, listening to country western music, as well as watching western shows. He liked to watch Y&R, game shows and comedies. He played in a hockey league for 7 years and enjoyed going camping, hunting and fishing. He belonged to a group called the Pioneers and travelled all over Canada, the USA and over to Russia.
John joined the army at the tender age of 18 and was a foot solider for 3 years. He then worked at Air Canada as a luggage handler.
He wanted people to know that: “My family is very important to me”. John is survived by his daughter, Donna Dunz; grandson, Kelly Dunz, and Wayne Dockrell.
He was predeceased by Tammy Dockrell, and John Wingert.
