It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Margarett Brooks on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the age of 64 years.
Joan was born in Fort Smith on June 30, 1955 to Archie and Amy Bourke. She was raised in Fort Smith a town in the South Slave Region of the Northwest Territories, Canada. Her family growing up included Mary Shaefer (Ken), Rita Heseltine, Bruce Bourke, Ken Bourke (Gloria), Matthew Bourke (Deceased), Gabe Bourke, Georgina Bourke (Deceased), Lorrainne Bourke (Deceased), Wally Bourke (Jeannie), Lucy Desjarlais (Charlie), Peter Cardinal (Half Brother), Edward Cardinal (Half Brother, Deceased), Peter (Sunny) Bourke (Deceased), Jack Martin (Half Brother, Deceased), Terry Cardinal (Half Sister), Michael Cardinal (Half Brother).
Joan had a passion for seeing souls saved for Jesus and for praying and interceding for her family, friends and broken-hearted.
On May 6, 1995 Joan married the love of her life, Tim. They shared the love of Jesus with people. Joan is survived by her loving husband of twenty four years, Tim; her children Lorie, Kristina, Christopher and Angelina; her grandchildren Mariella, Liam, and Alister. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Archie and Amy Bourke. A Funeral and Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121 17 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2A 0T1) on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
