Joan Carol Larouche

Joan Larouche passed away peacefully on Monday July 6, 2020 at the age of 78 years with her loving family by her side.
Joanie was born in Prince Edward Island to Douglas and Helen Ebers and was the eldest of five children. She spent her younger years in PEI before moving to Montreal and eventually settling in Calgary.
Joan is pre-deceased by her parents, Doug and Helen; husband, Robert and son, Ian. She is survived by her children, Cindy, Rob & Scott and siblings, Donny, Bill ‘Buddy’, Bobby & Bev.
From a young age, Joanie possessed a strong personality. She was opinionated, determined and stubborn. She was socially aware and politically active. In her teens, in Montreal, she participated in protests, making the changes that she wanted to see in her community and her government. Joan was a peace loving hippie. She loved nature and camping. She was spiritual and giving – a mother to all those who needed her. Her home was always open for a friend in need. When Joan wasn’t helping people in her home, she was volunteering at Eastside Victory Outreach Church.
Joan and her larger than life personality will be missed by all those who knew her.
