Jesse Ball passed away suddenly in a tragic motorcycle accident on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the age of 38 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents Rick & Brenda Ball; sister Candice (Steve) Lynes; twin sister Kristen (Shawn) Benoit; nephews Daxon, Grayson and Ashton; much loved dogs Ella & Piper; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many more friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents and two uncles and four aunts.
Jesse was born and raised in Calgary, AB. After finishing high school, he took 4 math courses to upgrade so he could attend SAIT and obtain his Advanced Architectural Technology Diploma. He’d done incredible work with AutoCAD during his projects with Bill Kumlin Architects. He was so proud of his work on Flames Central. Drafting all the blueprints. He knew AutoCAD better than the instructors.
Jesse’s extensive career experience included an engineering firm. He could address issues that architects struggled with.
He had his own construction company which was his pride & joy. His design capability was evident in every project he did.
He was also instrumental in elevating his quality product for a local company building fences & decks. His craftmanship & customer service took a struggling company to competence with a quality product.
Jess then went on to his dream of attaining his Red Seal Motorcycle Technician certification. He was one week away from going to Fairview to continue his studies at NW Polytech. After the dismal offerings of SAIT for his first year he was so stoked to finally be attending one of the best Harley Davidson schools in North America.
Like everything Jesse worked towards he would have aced his schooling. Jesse was intelligent & passionate & driven to do his very best. We are so proud of his many accomplishments. Gone too soon is the bitter pill to swallow.
Jesse had a passion for axe throwing. He took pride in his ability to compete in tournaments and to coach at BATL.As a left handed axe thrower he was inspiring to watch such remarkable skill. Winning the 2017 championship was a treasure. I have no doubt he could have competed globally.
We are so proud of the coaching ability he possessed. His pride was abundant as he told us he taught a ninety year old woman to throw. Those successes were among his many proud moments. People requesting him to coach their party asked for the coach that looks like Jesus if they didn’t know his name. His BATL family was a source of joy.
Jesse was also an accomplished singer/song writer & guitar player. As a southpaw he was magic on right handed guitars. He had the gift of music and loved to share it. At 18 he cut a cd with his band Sound Through Time. He then wrote & performed many amazing songs over the next years. His aptitudes were truly an inspiration.
With assistance from a friend I will be recording Jesse’s songs. Jess ran out of time. So I will do all I can to ensure his music legacy soars as far as he has now. He deserves for the world to hear his voice.
Rick & I are very grateful to Jess for his outstanding skills in renovating our Calgary family home before selling. It was a bittersweet labor of love for him. Rick so enjoyed working with him. He did an incredible job.
The pride his family has in the man Jess grew to become was shown everyday of his life. Co-workers beam as they recall his competency in all facets of his careers.
Jesse’s character is a source of great pride for us. Kind & gentle & polite. Comedic & caring. Competent & intelligent. Passionate in all he did.
He was a dog whisperer. Dogs were drawn to him. His love for animals was abundant.
His creativity was shown in his wood art. As a skilful artist his pieces were popular & admired by many.
Through his music and his art he touched the hearts of many. His numerous accolades were admired by all hearts he touched. He was so loved by all who knew him.
One of Jesse's greatest passions was motorcycles, specifically Harley Davidson's. He loved riding them, and although tragic, he passed away doing what he loved, riding his dream Harley.
A Private Celebration of Jesse's Life will be held at a later date.
