Jerzy Karaszkiewicz

With heavy hearts we announce that Jerzy Karaszkiewicz passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at the age of 79 years.

Born and raised in Poland, Jerzy moved to England where he married the love of his life, Alina. They started a family welcoming a son and a daughter. He enjoyed a lifetime as a dedicated and accomplished civil engineer in the U.K., Canada, and the USA.

Jerzy enjoyed nature, especially finding moments of peace and solitude. He was an avid reader. Jerzy loved to gather with family and friends over drinks; while thriving in spirited debates regarding world history, a subject he was very passionate about.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Alina; children, Peter (Joni) of Calgary, Alberta, and Margaret (Alasdair) of the UK; grandchildren, Anthony, Nikolas, and Victoria.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held for Jerzy at Pierson's Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
