It is with great sadness that the family of Jeremy (Jay) Wasson Merkel announce his passing at the age of 73 in Calgary, Alberta on July 11, 2022.
After a life well lived, Jeremy passed peacefully wrapped in love with his family by his side. Jeremy is survived by his sister Betty, brother Rick (Pat) and his 4 children Dawn (Keith), Tracey (Brent), Mike (Naomi) and Sarah (Magnus). Jeremy adored his 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Cassidy, Lindsay, Sage, Tristin, Kaitlynn and Jaden. Jeremy also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, as well as a vast network of friends.

Jeremy was predeceased by his father Arthur, mother Evelyn and former wife Lynne.
The family would like to extend huge gratitude to the cardiac team at Foothills Hospital, the VAD Clinic and his homecare team. The nurses and doctors provided such excellent care over the years for Jeremy.
