Jennifer Evelyn Kautsky-Ballendine

It is with love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved Jenny on December 11, 2025. Born in Calgary, Alberta on February 24, 1962 she lived most of her life here, leaving an unforgettable mark on everyone she met.

She leaves behind her cherished daughters Sierra Ballendine (Ahmad) and Savannah Ballendine (Jesse). She is also survived by her brother Robert Graham (Rhonda); stepmother Susan Barlow; her father’s wife Wilma Kautsky; aunts Gitta Simeth and Ilsedore Kautsky and many cousins here in Canada and across Europe.

Jennifer was pre-deceased by her father Gunter Kautsky; her mother Brigitte Graham (nee Dreschel); uncles Kurt and Peter Kautsky and Josef Simeth; her grandparents and her dear friend Marco.

Jennifer was a deeply loving, generous, and compassionate soul. She spent many years working at the Humane Society as a senior constable, where her devotion to helping animals reflected the kindness she showed to everyone around her. In recognition of her selfless spirit and service, she was honoured with a Woman of the Year award.

She was the person who always showed up — for people, for animals, and for anyone in need. Known for her big personality, infectious laughter, and warm heart, Jennifer had a presence that could never be dimmed. She loved to cook and was exceptional at it, often bringing people together through her incredible home-cooked meals. She adored her cats, found joy in gardening, and expressed her creativity through many handmade crafts.

Jennifer was loved dearly and will be remembered for her unwavering care, humour, and the light she brought into every room.

In memory of Jennifer, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will be announced in the new year.
