On Friday, December 12, 2025, James Calvert, of Calgary, Alberta, a beloved member of the community passed away at the age of 61 years.
James was born on Monday, November 23, 1964 in Edmonton, Alberta. He was a vibrant soul who embraced life with enthusiasm and a contagious joy.
From a young age, James developed a passion for Stampede Wrestling, an event he eagerly anticipated each year. The thrill of witnessing his favorite wrestlers in the ring brought him immense happiness, and he cherished the memories of those exhilarating moments. Alongside wrestling, James was an avid fan of the Calgary Flames, a team that captured his heart, reflecting his unwavering support for local sports.
His interests spanned far and wide, with a particular fondness for all things John Deere. James also had a special admiration for classic cars, with the Mustang holding a distinctive place in his heart. These passions were an integral part of his identity, contributing to the colorful tapestry of his life.
At the core of James' world were his parents, Linda and James Calvert, whose love and guidance shaped him into the remarkable individual he became. He also found a deep bond with his caregiver, Linda Williams and family, who devoted over 25 years to ensuring his comfort and happiness. Her unwavering support and care enriched James' life immeasurably, and their relationship was filled with mutual respect.
James cherished the time spent with friends at Resourceful Futures, engaging in various activities that brought them together. These gatherings were a testament to his outgoing nature and his love for companionship.
James Roy Herbert Calvert will be remembered not only for his vibrant personality and passions but also for the kindness and warmth he shared with those around him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
James is survived by his siblings, Allan Calvert of Edmonton, Alberta, Debbie Gagne of Holden, Alberta; his caregiver of 25 years, Linda Williams and her family of Calgary, Alberta; and numerous relatives and a host of great friends. He is predeceased by his parents Linda (nee Paget) and James Herbert Calvert.
As per James' wish, there will be a time of visitation and a short prayer service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Pierson's Funeral Service, 4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta. Graveside service will follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery, 243208 Garden Road, Calgary, Alberta.
