Jack Cowling Fitger
September 28, 1949 — November 10, 2023
Jack Cowling Fitger passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the age of 74 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Sarah and Jenn (Michael Currie) Fitger of Calgary, AB; his son, Ryan (Sherrie) Fitger of Kamloops, BC; Jack’s granddaughters, Ashley, Tearra, Isabelle, and Katelynn; his grandson, Nolan; as well as his siblings, other family, and many friends.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and Alan Eugene Fitger; His son, Fred Fitger; as well as many of his siblings.
Jack was born in British Columbia later moving to Calgary, AB where he dedicated five years serving our country. Jack loved hunting, dancing and the game of hockey. Everyone who know him saw that Jack had a heart of gold. He was a giving man, who would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He would feed the hungry just out of the kindness of his heart never expecting anything in return. He loved being surrounded by his friends and family and was always looking for a laugh. He was a good father, loving grandpa, and a giving friend. Jack was a prime example of how we should have faith and treat others. Jack was admired by many and always offered advice to those that needed it. He was fondly nicknamed “The Preacher” as he was an endless wealth of knowledge. Jack would want you to always remember the good times and not dwell on his departure; For he would say its only temporary and we will one day meet again.
