Irving Leonard Mendelsohn

Irving Mendelsohn passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at the age of 78 years. Irving was born in Montreal on April 17, 1943 to Hyman and Clara Mendelsohn. He grew up in Montreal in a culturally rich and diverse community. He met Agnes in 1969 when she moved from the prairies to Montreal on a temporary teaching exchange program. They spent some time in Edmonton and Olds before settling in Calgary. Irving worked for many years as a high school teacher. He was keenly involved with all aspects of family and always happy to share with them both his sense of humour and love of nature. Irving will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by his wife of 50 years, Agnes; his son, David; daughter, Judith and her partner Eugene; grandson, Isaac and extended family and friends. A graveside inurnment will take place at Mountain View Memorial Gardens (1605 100 St SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, June 3 at 2:00pm.
