Irene Parker

Irene Parker passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the age of 96 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sheila Engel and Geoffrey Currens; grandchildren, Stacey (Al), Denise, Rob, Sarah, Rebecca, David and Glen; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Peter, brother Lawrence and sisters Phillis, Ivy, Beatrice and Lilly. Irene was born and raised in England. After starting her family in England, she moved to Ontario where she spent many years and then eventually moved to Calgary where she has lived for the last 14 years. Irene had a very dynamic personality and loved to spend time with people out of the house, no matter the occasion. One of her greatest passions was her church, where she served several missions and was actively serving for more than 50 years. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff on the 5th floor/Mahogany of Age Care Seton for the exceptional care their mother received. A Funeral Service will be held for Irene at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Heritage Chapel (935 Heritage Drive SW, Calgary) on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
