With heavy hearts, the family of Ingrid Ilse Mics shares the news of her passing on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the age of 80 years.
Ingrid was born in Steyr, Austria and later lived in Carinthia, where fate brought her together with Laszlo Mics, her beloved husband. In 1968, she made a life-changing decision to move to Calgary with him, a place that she grew to adore. Embracing her new home, she quickly mastered the language and dedicated herself to serving the community by working at the Calgary Post Office, where she remained until her retirement.
Family meant the world to Ingrid, and her love for her seven siblings knew no bounds. Their bonds were unbreakable, leaving cherished memories that will forever remain in their hearts. Though her marriage with Laszlo didn’t bless them with children, Ingrid found solace and support from her nieces and nephews, who lovingly helped her through difficult times. After the loss of her husband Laszlo in 2006, her loyal companions, Schatzi and Sophie, her beloved dogs, provided her with unwavering companionship and comfort.
Ingrid’s warm spirit touched the lives of many, not only in Canada but also in Austria and Germany, where numerous relatives and friends will deeply mourn her absence.
