It is with profound sadness that the family of Ingeborg Sauter (nee Nusser) announce her passing at the age of 92 on November 17, 2022.
Inge was born on January 25, 1930 in Oberstadion, Germany. Inge lead a very full life until the end.
In April 1954 she met Johann, who predeceased her in 2011 after 56 years of marriage. They were married in April of 1955 and immigrated to Canada that summer. Once settled, they started their family and created their new life together. The best part of their lives was Shuswap Lake. They ventured to the lake the first time in 1966, and kept returning every year until they bought their own piece of heaven in 1971. They spent most of their retirement enjoying the lake and their forest, Mom’s last visit being July of this year. Our family enjoys this piece of heaven to this day.
Ingeborg is survived by her three children and their spouses, John Peter Sauter (Donna Shannon), Walter Sauter (Sandra) and Evelyn Delaney (Kevin). She is also survived by her Grandchildren, Dustin Sauter (Claire), Ashley Sauter, Simon Sauter, Katie Tetz (Justin Plunkett), Cody Tetz (Tessa Moore) and Danielle Delaney. And to continue on her legacy of love at the lake, her great grandchildren, Alexander, Elliot, Mia and Hayden. Ingeborg is also survived by her brothers Hans Nusser and Herman Nusser (Angela) and a sister, Linde Volk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff on Unit 43 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital and to the amazing staff at Agapé Hospice. Thank you for the dignity and care shown.
A private family celebration of life will take place next summer at Shuswap Lake.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the
Salvation Army Agapé Hospice
would be greatly appreciated. 1302 – 8th Avenue NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1B8.
