Harry Lynn Olson

February 15, 1942 — June 3, 2016

We regret to announce the passing of Harry L. Olson on June 3, 2016. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Sue; his children Ken (Barb), Kevin (Natalie), and Craig (Stephanie) of Magrath, AB; his son in law Bruce (Barb) Humphreys; his grandchildren Ross (Kenzie), Jaclyn (Mason), Marissa, Steven (serving a LDS Mission in Jacksonville, FL), Emma, Carmen, Erica, Chloe, Blake, Cache, Whitney, Cheyanne, Colton, Eric, Crystal (Dan), Sharee (Nate), Mitchell, and Bentley. Harry was predeceased by his daughter, Christine in 2010; his parents Ken (1948) and Mildred (1988) Olson. Harry was born in Grande Prairie, AB and spent his high school years in Picture Butte, AB. He attended the University of Alberta studying Business, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. He immediately began articling with Peat Marwick accounting firm in Calgary, AB, where he spent his entire career. He jointly created the Calgary Tax practice which he led as a Partner until his retirement from KPMG. He was well respected in his field and known as a man of great integrity. Harry served faithfully as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in many positions. Most recently, spending his retirement years serving in the Cardston and Calgary LDS Temples. We express our gratitude and thanks to all of the doctors and staff that have treated him at the Tom Baker Cancer Center and all of the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Foothills Country Hospice.
