Guenther Maekelburger

Guenther Maekelburger passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 at the age of 92 years. 

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Ruth; Guenther's sons, Ralph (Jolee), Herb (Sandy), and Harry (Brenda); as well as his seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Guenther was predeceased by his parents, Jakob and Kate; and Guenther's brother, Ray.

Guenther the plumber was born in a part of Poland that was once called West Prussia. However, he spent the last 72 years of his life in his beloved Canada. In Calgary, he met his wife Ruth. They enjoyed 68 wonderful years of marriage. Besides faith and family, Guenther had a passion for plumbing and did many projects, even after retirement. His plumbing career kept him primarily in and around Calgary, but various jobs for friends and family took him to places like Banff, Edmonton, Trout Lake, Abbotsford and California. 

Guenther worked for several companies including Parkdale Plumbing, Baker Plumbing, Sandau Mechanical and the Foothills Hospital. 

A Funeral Service will be held for Guenther at Foothills Lutheran Church (3104 - 34 Avenue N.W., Calgary ) on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 11:00 am.
