The family of Greg Vibert sadly announces his passing in Calgary on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the age of 62 years. He is survived by his loving wife Marianne; daughters, Kaitlyn and Natasha; our sweet cat Mikayla; mom Edna Vibert; brother Wayne (Monica), and their children, Sydney and Ethan; mother-in-law Elsie Yurchuk; sister-in-law Barb (Glenn) Barr and their children, Megan (Austin) and Emily; sister-in-law Judy (Darryl) Yurchuk; brother-in-law Michael (Carrie) Yurchuk, and their children, Erica and Niklas; and an extended family of aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Donald; grandparents John and Mary Vibert, Stephen and Mary Podl; uncle’s Maurice and Paul; and aunt Patricia.
Greg was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He attended Bedford Road Collegiate and received his Commerce Degree at the University of Saskatchewan. He spent the past 30 years working first with Scotiabank and then moving into the Scotia Wealth Management division.
Greg was that guy who made the most of everything. For example, he spent more time sometimes planning a family vacation than we did being on vacation. Greg would make sure that wherever we went we experienced all there was to see and do. His daughters were his pride and joy. He may have grumbled about how much we spent when they did competitive dance, but he loved to watch them when he could in person, and always online when the dance competitions were live streaming. He loved the joy and happiness dance brought to both his daughter’s lives. As retirement was approaching Greg was trying to convince Marianne that they sell their home, buy an RV and go to NFL games all across America! He did not quite have her sold on that idea. But was able to convince her to take in a couple games.
We want to thank the staff at South Health Campus, especially Dr Philippe Couillard and ICU Nurses Brielle and Danny, as well as Dr Carolyn Owen and Dr Sarah Parry at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and their dedicated team for all of their kind and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre through The Alberta Cancer Foundation or a charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Greg's Life is being planned in Saskatoon for a later date.
