Gregory Rex Baker

Greg Baker, passed away July 28, 2011 at the Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary, at the age of 52. He will be dearly missed by his wife Cathy; their three children Dustin Baker (Jennifer Bray) of Calgary, Jodi Baker of Langdon and Cody Baker (Jennifer Murray) of Calgary; three grandchildren Braydon Baker, Destiny Baker and William Horovitz; his mother Jean Cannady of Raymond; four brothers and sisters Laura Cottell of Calgary, Robert Baker (Cheryl) of Raymond, Randy Baker (Sharon) of Raymond and Tawna Wilson of Lethbridge; and many other relatives and friends. Greg was predeceased by his father Rex and sister Darla. Greg was born in Taber but raised primarily in Raymond. After graduating from High School, he attended SAIT where he graduated with diplomas in Aeronautical & Mechanical Engineering. He has gone on to work as a mechanical engineer & manager in Oil and Gas for the past 30 years. Greg loved camping and fishing with his family. He was a skilled wood worker, with a keen interest in using the lathe. Greg had a passion for learning and education and would absorb information from any source available. Greg loved & lived for his family, and would do anything for them. We love you and will miss you. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel, 4121 17 Avenue SE on Tuesday, August 2 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, East Stake Centre, 7017 California Blvd NE on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond, Alberta at 3:00 p.m. the same day. If friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of AB, #100, 119 14 Street NW, Calgary, T2N 1Z6. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca.
