Gregory Todd Kaiswatum

It is with deep sorrow that Mariposa announces the passing of her older brother, Gregory Todd “Greggy” Kaiswatum, late of the Piapot Cree Nation. Greggy passed away on August 24, 2026, at 57 years of age. He was a longtime resident of Calgary’s Forest Lawn community, where he lived for more than 20 years.

Greggy is survived by his former partner, Tilley Desjarlais; his grandchildren, Rayne Stonechild (Desjarlais), Kieran Hoffman, and Navaeh Hoffman; his brother, Albert Kaiswatum Jr.; and his sisters, Karen Fabian (née Kaiswatum), Mariposa Dumont, and Evangelene Dumont.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Kayla Kaiswatum; his grandparents, Angus and Flora (née Obey) Kaiswatum and Joe and Irene (née Prosper) Whiteman; his mother, Bernice Whiteman; his father, Albert Kaiswatum Sr.; and his sisters, Gwen Kaiswatum, Deanna Chee (née Kaiswatum), Maxine Ratkovic (née Kaiswatum), and Juanita Nelson (née Tracey Kaiswatum).

A Celebration of Greggy’s life will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pierson’s Funeral Home Forest Lawn, 4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary.
