Gertrude Pike, born on December 13, 1949, in Halfway Point, Newfoundland, peacefully passed away on July 6, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Gertrude leaves behind a legacy that reflects her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit.
Gertrude is survived by her children, Darren (Tracy), Elizabeth (Geoff), and Harold (Arlene). Her legacy continues with her grandchildren, Dawson, Chantel, Sarah-Dawn, and Annika; great-grandchildren, Javed, Xander, Jack, Carmelita, and Lincoln; siblings, Mary Ann, Margaret, Gary, Jean, Len, Judy, and Michael, who shared fond memories of her deep compassion and strong spirit.
Among her many interests, Gertrude had a deep love for music; she enjoyed singing and favored fiddle music that brought her joy and comfort. Her talent extended beyond music, as she was an avid and productive knitter, creating pieces that highlighted her creativity and dedication. Gertrude also found happiness in simple pleasures, such as her daily tea breaks and shopping trips to her favorite place, Walmart.
Gertrude is predeceased by her parents, Florence Cyril and Mary Carmelita Greene; and her siblings, Kay, Doreen, and Rodney. Their absence is felt deeply, yet they remain a part of her cherished memories.
