Gerald Ridler

October 22, 1931 — September 6, 2022

Gerald Ridler passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 6, 2022 at the age of 90. He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Tim and Gerilyn (Richard) of Calgary, and his multiple grandchildren. Gerry was pre deceased by his wife of 64 years; Elsie and his son Robyn.

Gerry was born in Winnipeg where he met his wife Elsie. They were married in 1952 and spent more than 60 years together. Gerry was an avid lacrosse player, playing for over a decade, He was inducted into the Manitoba Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2018 for his scoring titles and championships. Gerry worked to become a journeyman plumber; Working in Winnipeg until he and his family moved to Prince George, BC. While there, Gerry decided to open his own plumbing business and eventually worked with his son, Tim.

Gerry and Elsie moved to Victoria, BC for five years then to Calgary in 2000 where they spent their remaining years. Gerry loved to golf, he did so avidly in his later years with his son Tim. Gerry was a kind hearted and enthusiastic man who became involved in community associations and charities whenever he could. He will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Foothills Hospital, Rockyview Hospital and Dulcina Hospice and the staff, for their excellent care of Gerry.
