Gerald 'Gerry' Charles Borschowa

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Gerald “Gerry” Charles Borschowa on June 6, 2025, at the age of 68.

Born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, on February 16, 1957, Gerry grew up with Prairie roots and a work ethic as strong as his heart was big. Eventually settling in Calgary, Alberta, he spent most of his life surrounded by the people he loved - family, friends, and anyone lucky enough to cross his path.

Gerry was a jack of all trades in the truest sense - resourceful, skilled, and endlessly curious. Whether it was fixing something with his hands, sharing wisdom, or simply lending a listening ear, Gerry put passion into everything he did. He lived life with purpose and left a lasting impression everywhere he went.

His warmth was magnetic. Gerry could light up a room with his smile and fill it with laughter through his unforgettable sense of humor. He had a deep love for hockey and was a dedicated CFL fan-but nothing brought him more pride or joy than his family.

Gerry was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He gave selflessly, loved fiercely, and lived with a kindness that came naturally.

He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Anne Borschowa; and his brother, John Borschowa.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Brent (Sarah) Willette and their children, Chad Willette (Amanda Dumba) and their son, Jayden, Chelsey Willette (Darren Gardner), his daughter, Hannah Lapawchuk (Dario Takaric) and their daughter, Abby Lapawchuk (Christopher Jahner). Gerry will also be lovingly remembered by his daughter, AJ and her children, Elyse, Skylar, Kayden, and Ashton.

Gerry is also survived by his siblings, Mike (Yvonne) Borschowa, Joe (Connie) Borschowa & Eileen (Rod) Decelle; nieces and nephews, Scott Mitchell, Kenton Borschowa, Zoe Norman, Jennifer & Kathy.

A private service will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Home to honor Gerry’s life and legacy.

To those who knew him, Gerry was more than family or friend-he was a beacon of generosity, humor, and unwavering love. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing his spirit lives on in each of us. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
