George Ursu

URSU, George May 01, 1921 – September 26, 2013 Our father George, aged 92, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2013 in Calgary. He was recently predeceased by his wife Florence on September 11, 2013. Missing him is his daughter Judy (Phil); son Gary (Charlynn); granddaughter Torrie (Lak); grandson Garett; and his three great-grandchildren. George is survived by his brothers Sam (Fay) and Lee (Maria); sisters Eva, Irene (Dennis), Elaine, and Florence (George); brothers in-law Martin (Joyce), Larry (Lenore) and Peter; sisters-in-law Mary and Jean; as well as many nieces and nephews. He also was predeceased by sister Anne (Ted); brothers Percy and Don; and brothers-in-law Nick (Jean) and Andy (Mary). George was born in Kayville, Saskatchewan. He joined the service and later returned to Kayville to work. Later he moved with his family to Calgary where he worked for the Medical Corp for 25 years. George will be missed by family and friends. We would especially like to thank all those at Clifton Manor for their care and compassion these last few years. You all helped to make Dad’s last few years more liveable and definitely more enjoyable. A Memorial service will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Home (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Saturday, October 5th at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mike Jones officiating. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment to follow in Kayville, Sask. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Fund, #100, 114 14 Street NW, Calgary AB, T2N 1Z6.
