George Randolph (Randy) Cushman

George Randolph (Randy) Cushman passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at AgeCare Seton, Calgary, Alberta at the age of 74.
George was the middle child of Robert Harold Cushman and Clara Leona Cushman (née Strang). He was born on June 25, 1947 in Calgary, Alberta.
George spent most of his life in Calgary and enjoyed people and the outdoors. He especially liked the time spent on the small acreage where he and his little family lived in the northwest of the city. There he raised several animals including some horses, a donkey, and at any given time a number of dogs and cats.
He worked at a number of jobs in his lifetime. Early in his career he worked for Calgary Brewery and Malting. Later he drove a water truck delivering fresh water to acreages north of the city. He also drove a school bus, as well as a Coach liner for tourists visiting the Rockies. One of his favorite jobs was fundraising for Stars Air Ambulance. He became an area sales manager for their annual Calendar Sales Drive and gained a good deal of recognition for his efforts in this worthy cause.
In 2006, he suffered a stroke which left him with aphasia, cognitive deficits, and later, mobility issues. After many years in assisted living, he felt it was time to pass on and died peacefully.
George is survived by his four children, Annette, Kim, Laurie, and Crystal; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; three siblings, Rita Easthope, Ross Cushman, and Brien Cushman. George was predeceased by his sister, Valerie Broadhead in 2019.
A Funeral Service will be held for George at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing starting at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Due to the City of Calgary Bylaw, vaccination QR codes, negative COVID test or an exemption letter along with photo ID are required for attendance.
