Gary Lawrence McLeod

Gary McLeod passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the age of 71 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Marilyn; his very best friend Buddy the Dog; children, Michael McLeod (Stephen), Bradly McLeod, and Lindsay (Sean) Ross; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Liam, and Carter; sisters Terry (Brendan) Woodman, of Salt Spring Island, BC, and Brenda (George) Wright, of Cardston, AB; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Blanche & Lawrence McLeod.

Gary was born in Calgary, AB and raised in Taber, AB. While attending college in Lethbridge, AB he met the love of his life Marilyn. They were married and then made Calgary their home. They were blessed with three children, Michael, Bradley and Lindsay. Gary was an entrepreneur through and through. He first started working for a courier company until he was able to purchase his own courier company. He then started a house building company until the market crashed in the 80's. He then worked for Pepsi-Cola until he was able to start The Wildrose Group.

Gary loved working and keeping active. He loved hockey, baseball, badminton and most importantly riding his motorcycle. He rode his motorcycle all over, but truly loved riding in the prairies and his ride on Route 66. He also loved his family, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a kind, loving and giving man.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Dean Reuther and his team at the Tom Baker Cancer Center for their kind and compassionate care over the years.

A Funeral Service will be held for Gary at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Parkland Stake Center (14540 Parkland Blvd. SE , Calgary) on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 3:00 pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 2:00 pm. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Gary to a charity of their choice.
