Florence Ursu

URSU, Florence “Flossie” (nee Ritco ) June 5, 1922 – September 11, 2013 Our mother Flossie, aged 91, passed away peacefully and quietly on Sept. 11, 2013 in Calgary. She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, George. Missing her also are her daughter Judy (Phil); son Gary (Charlynn); granddaughter Torrie (Lak); grandson Garett and her three great- grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Fay (Sam); her brothers Martin (Joyce), Larry (Lenore) and Peter; her sisters-in-law Mary, Jean, Eva, Irene (Dennis), Elaine, and Florence (George); brothers-in-law Sam (Fay) and Lee (Maria) along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Nick (Jean) and Andy (Mary); three brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Anne (Ted). Flo was born in Wheatstone Saskatchewan, on June 5, 1922 and later moved to Calgary with George and the kids to start a life here. She loved working and always did a great job at Woolworth’s and then the Post Office in Forest Lawn. Flo will be missed by her family and friends; some of those friends she had just met while living at her new home in Whitehorn Village. We would like to thank all those at Whitehorn Village for their care and compassion these last few years. A Memorial Service will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Home (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Saturday September 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mike Jones officiating. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment to follow in Kayville, Sask. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT and Nunavut, 100 – 119 Street, N.W., Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6.
