Erika Anderson, beloved daughter, sister, mother and nana, passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 83 in Calgary, Alberta. Born on November 12, 1941, in a small town in Switzerland to Jacob and Bertha Stricker, Erika's early years were marked by the rich traditions and culture of her homeland. In 1951, at just 11 years old, she and her family made the significant journey to Canada, where they established their new home.
Erika lived and raised her family in the vibrant community of Forest Lawn. She was known for her warm spirit and creative talents, she dedicated her career to hair styling, bringing joy and confidence to many through her skilled hands and keen eye for beauty.
Erika was a nurturing mother and Nana, leaving behind a legacy of love and connection. She is survived by her partner, Ken Moynahan ; son Robert (Sherrie) Anderson, grandchildren Thomas (Brenaya) Anderson and Hayley (Dakota) Trauter, as well as great-grandchildren Kaiden and Benton Anderson, and Ellie Trauter. Each of them carries forward her spirit and values in their lives.
Among those who preceded her in death are her parents Jacob and Bertha Stricker, brother Dave (Nettie) Stricker, her daughter Debra Anderson, her son David Anderson, and her grandson Zachary Anderson. They will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who loved them.
A memorial service to honor Erika’s life and legacy will take place on May 25, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM at Pierson's Funeral Services (4121 17 Ave SE, Calgary ). Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate the profound impact she made on so many lives during her time with us. A time of reflection and fellowship will follow the service.
Erika will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the memories and stories shared by her loved ones.
