Alex Ballon-Carreno

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Enrique Alexander Ballon (Alex Ballon-Carreno), who passed away on March 23, 2026, at the age of 41 years old in Calgary. Alex was born on September 15, 1984, in Calgary to Mercedes and Enrique.

He spent his life doing what he loved and brought a lot of energy to everything he did. He worked in interior design and painting and achieved a master in barbering, taking real pride in his craft and the people he connected with. Above all, he had an unconditional love for his children, who meant everything to him. When he was younger, he enjoyed BMX and basketball and later found a passion for motocross. He loved music and was never afraid to bust a move, always bringing a smile and a little fun wherever he went.

Alex is survived by his children, Ava-Marie and Alexander; his mother, Mercedes; siblings Noel, Amanda (Andrew), Yesenia (Nauman); nephews and nieces, Antonio, Ariana, Aurelia and Zane; and grandma Rosario. He was predeceased by his son, Prince Ballon; grandpa, Jose Carreno; and his abuelita, Maria Cordero.

Alex will be remembered for his humour, kindness, and love of family. Alex’s corky humour, contagious smile, and big heart left an everlasting imprint on all those who were lucky to have crossed paths with him.

Alex leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. This is not goodbye; this is “see you later.”
