Elwyn Arthur Rees
February 10, 1932 — March 20, 2019
Elwyn Rees passed away on Wednesday March 20, 2019 at the age of 87 years.
Elwyn (aka Spud) was born in Dodsland, SK to Arthur L. Rees and Catherine Satterlee and was the youngest of four siblings. The Rees family lived in Saskatchewan until 1949 before moving and settling in Alberta.
He is pre-deceased by his parents; his loving wife of 61 years, Ella; sisters, Eleanor and Shirley and brother, Ivor (‘Joe’).
Elwyn is survived by his sons, Cam, Ron, Daryl and Kelvin; 5 grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Spud was a man of many talents and a jack-of-all-trades. He loved to learn to do everything and anything. And he did! His family like to say that he invented the exclamation point. Spud had a fantastic sense of humour. He was charismatic and friendly, very willing to chat with everyone.
A Celebration of Elwyn’s Life will take place on Saturday April 27 at 2pm at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary)
