Elizabeth Morrell Bell Shaw

Elizabeth Shaw passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022 at the age of 83 years.

Betty was born and raised in Greenock, Scotland to John and Margaret MacLean. She met a young William Shaw when he walked in as a customer to the record shop she was working in at the time. A relationship grew, they were married and went on to raise their family together. Betty and William were married more than 50 years before his passing in 2016. Betty and the children eventually relocated to Calgary where she worked as a nurse’s aid for many years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed a quiet lifestyle, relaxing with a cup of tea and watching the telly.

Betty is predeceased by her husband, William; brother, James McLean; and sister, Cathie Houston. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lorna (Doug) McLellan and Linda Shaw; granddaughter, Esha; and brother, Frank MacLean; along with many extended family and friends back home in Scotland.

Betty’s final resting place will be with her husband.
