Our dear friend and colleague Mavis gracefully took her last flight on January 29, 2026.
She dedicated over 35 years to Air Canada ,starting as a Stewardess in Winnipeg, bringing warmth and professionalism to the skies from the very start. Mavis, went on to become an In-Flight Supervisor in Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver, where her leadership, calm demeaner along with a sense of humor made a lasting impact. Later, she returned to main line flying as a Flight Service Director based in Calgary, becoming a favorite In-Charge, of all of Calgary Base. Mavis had an admirable ability to run a tight ship, especially during Airline delays, always level headed, organized and reassuring when it mattered most.
Her last few years dementia, made life difficult for Mavis, as part of her personality faded along with her memories. Even so she loved when her dear friend Deborah would bring her to the Air Canada once a month lunch to have a glass of wine (I WILL HAVE THE 9 OUNCE) with old familiar faces.
Mavis was so much more than an In-Charge, she was a mentor, a friend, and a steady, caring presence who touched so many lives along the way. A proud member of The Crows Club, an exclusive society for seasoned flight attendants, with whom she enjoyed attending many reunions across Canada through the years. She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength and genuine care she showed to everyone fortunate to fly or work along side of her.
