Betty Tschetter passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday April 23 surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jacob 'Jake' Tschetter; sons, David & Allan Cervo; grandchildren, Alisa Shumko-Cervo & August Cervo; great-grandchildren, Jaxson & Evander; siblings, Dennis (Jacquie) Lynes, Debbie (Alfred) von Gradulewski and Micheal (Brenda) Lynes; along with many, many nieces and nephews including her favourites Cindy & Sarah; and loving cousins across the pond. Betty is predeceased by her parents, Rose & Donald Lynes; and siblings, Bill, Gary, Brian, Donna, Jim & Pat.
Betty was born and raised in Kimberly, BC. She grew up in Happy Valley where she spent many days playing games outside, her summers were spent at the outdoor pool and McDougall Hall. She eventually moved to Cranbrook, BC where she gave birth to her beautiful baby boys, David & Allan. During this time, Betty also loved to bowl in the local bowling leagues - an activity that she did for many years.
While working at the Husky Truck Stop, she met the love of her life, Jacob. They started a new chapter of their lives together in Calgary. And it was in Calgary, that Betty and Jake welcomed their granddaughters then eventually their great-grandsons.
Betty loved to crochet and craft sentimental pieces for her family and friends. She also loved tending to her garden and soaking up quality time with those she loved.
Betty will be laid to rest in Cranbrook, BC on Sunday May 2 close to her two sisters.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday May 16 at the Royal Canadian Legion Chapelhow Branch 284 (606 - 38 Avenue NE, Calgary) from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veteran's Association.
