Eileen Helen Sudyn

Eileen Sudyn passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at the age of 92 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Linda (Alex) Howie of Regina, SK, Garnet (Marilyn) Sudyn of Calgary, AB and Tammy (Sean) Bates of Regina, SK; Eileen’s grandchildren, Becky (Dave) McStravick of Regina, SK, Cori Carey of Regina, SK, Robert (Ketrisse) Howie of Saskatoon, SK, Amy (Paul) Brown of White City, SK, Dorian (Derrick) Bates of Toronto, ON, Kyle (Jennifer) Bates of Regina, SK, Megan Bates of Regina, SK, Ryan (Aeliesha) Bee of Regina, SK, and Taylor Bates of Regina, SK; as well as her seventeen great-grandchildren.
Eileen was predeceased by the love of her life and husband of seventy three years, Roy Sudyn.
Eileen was born in Wynyard, SK on July 14, 1931. She later moved to Ontario. She found herself in Kenora, ON; where she met Roy at a dance. Eileen and Roy were married on September 23, 1950 later welcoming four children, one of whom passed away shortly after birth. Eileen and Roy would spend many wonderful years together moving to Calgary, AB in 1973 where they would remain for the rest of their lives.
Eileen was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She could be found in the kitchen as she loved to cook and bake. Her family will fondly remember her recipes. She enjoyed card games. Her favorite being Troika. Eileen’s other passion was her faith and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints . She loved to serve and had many callings in her church.
Eileen was a strong woman who survived three open heart surgeries and dealt with many health issues throughout her life. Never once did Eileen complain instead she would march on with strength and a heart of gold. Eileen will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Eileen’s family would like to express their appreciation to the Bethany Care Center for their amazing and loving care given to Eileen.
A Funeral Service will be held for Eileen at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Tipton Road Chapel ( 5927 Tipton Rd NW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens (1605 100 St SE, Calgary, AB)
