Edward Michael Hennessey

Edward “Ted” Hennessey was born on September 14, 1960, in Grand Falls, Newfoundland. He was the eldest of eight children born to Alice and Edward Hennessey.

At the ripe age of 19, Ted ventured west for the first time to work and explore life. Although that trip was short-lived, he returned home to Newfoundland, and on August 22, 1982, he welcomed his eldest daughter, Catherine, into the world. Ted was a proud father-Catherine was the apple of his eye, and he took her everywhere with him. Many days were spent together strolling down Monchy Road for a beer at Kelly’s.

Eventually, Ted headed west again, settling in Alberta, which would become his forever home. Over the next few years, Ted continued to live his life in true Ted fashion-working hard on the rigs and partying just as hard.

While living in Red Deer, Alberta, Ted met the love of his life, Lisa. Ted and Lisa wasted little time, and on July 12, 1994, they welcomed their first child together, Sarah Lucienne. Four days later, they tied the knot in a small backyard ceremony surrounded by friends and family.

Lisa was the yin to Ted’s yang, and she knew just how to handle his wild side. Not long after, Ted and Lisa started a new chapter together, moving their young family to Calgary. On September 28, 1998, they welcomed their second child, needing no introduction, typically the start of the show, none other than Lindsey Marie.

Ted began his career at Enerflex, where he remained for 25 years while Lisa held everyday life together for their family. Ted had many friends and more stories than anyone could imagine. He was the life of the party, always quick with a joke, and never afraid to act a little goofy to get a good laugh.

Many of Ted’s best times were spent at the trailer-arguably his favorite place to be. Surrounded by family and friends, with the warmth of a campfire, a beer in hand, and his guitar by his side, this was a little piece of Ted’s personal heaven.

Surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Ted grew his wings and soared to heaven. Without a doubt, we know he was met with the warm embrace of his mom and dad, his brothers Peter and Brian, and his baby nephew Teddy.

Ted is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa; his daughters Catherine (David), Sarah (Justin), and Lindsey; and his cherished grandchildren, Ava, Jasper, and Sam. He is also survived by his siblings-Maureen (Ted), Tina (Paul), Debbie (James), and brothers Phil (Lori), and David (Kathleen).

Rest in peace, dear Ted. Your life was a story well told, a song beautifully sung, and a friendship deeply cherished. You will live on in our hearts, in our laughter, and in our love. You will be missed beyond words.
