Dorothy May Loechert passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the age of 83 years.
Dorothy was born and raised in the charming fishing village of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, where simplicity and strength fostered her early life. A proud high school graduate, she carried the values of hard work and devotion throughout her life, nurturing a family and a legacy built on love and perseverance.
Her journey in the food industry began at home, where she lovingly fed and cared for her five children and husband. Her talents soon extended beyond her own kitchen-Dorothy became an industrial line cook at Burn’s Foods and later worked as a dedicated prep cook for food truck catering. She eventually found a home in the warm familiarity of Tim Horton's, where she worked at several locations, serving not just coffee and meals, but kindness and connection to those around her.
Dorothy had a quiet joy for life’s simple pleasures. She loved spontaneous car rides to the lake, often with her children in tow, creating memories marked by laughter and shared wonder. Some of the most special moments were spent on the road with her husband, a truck driver, where the family shared the open highways together.
At home, Dorothy found peace and creativity in puzzles and knitting-her hands always busy crafting warm sweaters and warm memories. She had an open heart for everyone she loved, especially her children, grandchildren, and her beloved pets. She delighted in spoiling them all, offering comfort, care, and unconditional love.
Dorothy’s life was a beautiful example of quiet strength, generous spirit, and endless devotion to family. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in every life she touched.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Rudi Loechert, Phyllis Rossiter (Scott Amos), Pam (Allan) Wiseman, Marie Watson (Ken Chase), and John Elliott; six grandchildren, Steven Elliott, Wayne (Brianna) Elliott, Angie (Rob), Josh Rossiter, Meagan Rossiter, Kari (Ryan) Pender; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Wayne (Donna) Miller, Sage Debelle, Verla Ried.
She is predeceased by her parents, Hilda & Frank; and her husband, Richard Maynard.
