Donald George Goss

Donald was born in Calgary, Alberta, and grew up in the close-knit communities of Inglewood and Ogden. Raised in a Catholic home, he carried with him the values of kindness, generosity, and looking out for others.

Donald dedicated an incredible 46 years of service to Calgary Transit as a city bus driver. For nearly five decades, he played a part in keeping Calgary moving. His long and dedicated career was a testament to his commitment and reliability.

Outside of work, music was one of Donald's greatest passions. He was a true music enthusiast who appreciated good sound and took a keen interest in stereo equipment. He loved tinkering with his own equipment, and setting up stereos for others. Whether fine-tuning a system or helping someone get the best sound possible, Donald enjoyed sharing his knowledge and bringing music into the lives of those around him. Donald also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially going out for a good meal.

Above all, Donald will be remembered for his generous heart. He was the kind of man who would lend a hand to anyone in need, giving freely of himself without expecting anything in return.

To his family, Donald was a wonderful father—a man whose place in their lives can never be replaced.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honoured for the man he was—a hardworking transit driver, a devoted father, a music lover, and a genuinely good man.

Donald is survived by his son, John Goss, and his daughter-in-law, Pamela Pergotski; grandchildren, Trephaine Goss and Amelia Goss; siblings, Robert Goss, Terry Watka, Alan Goss, Cecilia Goss, Mary Zurr. He was predeceased by his brother, Mitchell Goss.
