His is predeceased by his mother Dorothy; his father Cameron; his sister Dorothy; his nephews John and Rick; and his brothers-in-laws Roger and Mervin. Don was a teddy bear: soft, gentle, and cuddly. He was more than willing to give you the shirt off his back, even if you didn’t ask for it. His was instantly known as “dad”, “brother”, or “Uncle Don” to so many. He was quiet, but once out of his shell was a social butterfly. He lived life to love his family and friends. He will forever be remembered for the warmth of his smile and the twinkle in his eye. A gathering to celebrate Don’s life will be held at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 17 Avenue SE) on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. His family would like to thank those special staff members of PLC Unit 23 and Dr. Lo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (6007 1A Street SW Calgary, AB T2H 0G5).
