Diane Margaret Bergen passed away on May 20th, 2024 at the Rockyview General Hospital, very peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends.
Diane, or Momma B as she was often known, was an incredible woman, a warrior, and had a heart of gold. She selflessly gave her time and resources to others and made life brighter everywhere she went. Throughout her life and career, Diane was a force. She was positive, upbeat, and always knew how to make you laugh. She made friends quickly and would do anything for someone she loved. She lived life to the fullest and was often found in the theatre, watching and supporting her beloved son, Alex on stage, or volunteering, reading, or on the beach.
She fearlessly fought for over ten years with four different types of cancer, including a total of six different cancers throughout her life. She also battled with a workplace fire accident that left her with advanced stage COPD. Still, she never let her battles get the best of her and would find the silver lining in any situation. She was a fighter until the end and got to spend her final year traveling to see her grandchildren, seeing dozens of theatre performances, and spending time with her close circle of friends and family.
Diane is survived by her sons, Alex, and Tyler; her sisters, Darlene, and Brenda; her brother Wally; brothers-in-law John and Brian; sister-in-law Kelly; nieces and nephew Heather, Ryan, Shauna, and Cailie; daughter-in-law Meghan; grandchildren Aubree, Taylor, and Bentley. She is predeceased by her mother, Edna, and nephew, Scott.
A Funeral Service will be held for Diane at Pierson's Funeral Service (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Monday, May 27, 2024 at 6:00 pm. For those unable to attend in person, we invite you to use the following Live Stream Link to attend over Zoom:

We will miss her infectious laughter and smile always, and will carry her in our hearts forever.
"And so I try to be kind to everything I see, and in everything I see, I see her."
