Della ‘Delia’ Cormier
April 21, 1924 — June 16, 2022
Della Cormier passed away peacefully at Agecare Skypointe on June 16, 2022 at the age of 98.
She was born in Mariapolis, Manitoba to Alfred and Julie Desrochers and was one of six children.
Della grew up in Manitoba and moved to Calgary in 1968. She was a devoted mother who cherished her children and grandchildren. There are many fond memories of her delicious meals and baking. Her meat pies and butter tarts were famous.
Della is survived by her three children, Ron (Linda), Dianne (James), and Wayne (Katherine). Her sisters; Irene Mortier of Kelowna and Lucy Solodiuk of Winnipeg. As well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff on Sunridge East for their exemplary care in Della’s final years. Our thanks to Dr. Sumeet Bhatia for his outstanding compassionate care.
Funeral Mass for Della will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1525 – 45 Street SE, Calgary) on Tuesday June 21, 2022 at 1:00 pm with graveside service to follow at Mountain View Cemetery (1605 100 St SE, Calgary)
